PixelDock AppsFree CV builder · local editing

Build your CV — free

Start from an existing CV or fill in your details manually, watch the preview, then download the PDF. Your full CV stays in your browser while you edit and is not stored by the builder.

Already have a CV?

Upload it and we'll fill the builder with the details we can identify. PDF, DOCX and TXT files are read in your browser — review everything before downloading.

No AI is used for import. We only copy text we can identify from your file; missing or uncertain fields stay editable for you to correct.

The full CV is generated locally. If you download with a name and email filled in, those contact details and your job title may be used for PixelDock follow-up; the builder does not send or store your full CV text.

How the free CV builder works

Already have a CV? Import a PDF, DOCX or TXT file and the builder fills the fields it can identify. Or start manually. Editing and PDF generation happen in your browser, and there is no account, watermark or export fee.

  1. Import your CV or start from scratch

Upload an existing PDF, DOCX or TXT resume to pre-fill common details such as contact information, summary, experience, education and skills. Import is best-effort, so review every field — or skip it and enter the details yourself.

  2. Review the details and live preview

Everything remains editable after import. The preview beside the form updates as you make corrections, so you can see the finished layout while you work rather than after.

  3. Download the PDF

The PDF is built in your browser and saved straight to your device. The builder does not send or store your full CV text. If name and email are filled in when you download, those contact details and your job title may be used for PixelDock follow-up.

What the template does, and why

  • A single column, so the reading order stays unambiguous
  • Conventional headings such as Experience and Education rather than invented labels
  • Real selectable text throughout — text inside an image cannot be extracted at all
  • Consistent date formatting, so your timeline is easy to follow
  • No icons, tables or decorative graphics competing with the content

Common questions

Is the CV builder really free?
Yes. There is no account, watermark or export paywall. You can import an existing PDF, DOCX or TXT resume, edit the fields and download the PDF without paying.
Does my CV get uploaded or stored?
Your PDF, DOCX or TXT import is read in your browser, and the CV is edited and generated there. The builder does not send or store your full CV text. If you download with a name and email filled in, those contact details and your job title may be used for PixelDock follow-up. Signed-in users can also explicitly choose Save version, which stores that saved resume version in their account.
Is the CV suitable for applicant tracking systems?
It is built to avoid the things that commonly cause parsing problems: it uses a single column, standard section headings and real selectable text rather than graphics. No tool can guarantee how a particular employer's system will treat any given file, but a plain structure gives it the best chance.
Can I come back and edit it later?
Anonymous editing is not automatically saved. If you want reusable versions, create or sign in to a free account and use the builder's Save version option where available. Otherwise, keep the downloaded PDF and import your existing CV again when you return.
What if the import puts something in the wrong field?
The import is a free best-effort helper, not an AI rewrite. It copies text it can identify from common resume sections and leaves every field editable. Review names, employers, dates, education and skills before downloading.
What if I want someone to write it for me?
The builder gives you a clean, correctly structured document from your own words. If you want the words themselves improved, that is what the paid AI rewrite at /resume-fix is for.
